 Today in class we talked bout comedians. We discussed whether comedians should be able to say what they please. The current event of Will Smith slapping Chris Rock was brought up and we made claims and evidence based around this incident. I think that Will Smith was justified in the slap. He has every right to defend his wife. 

 Today in class we took a test.  the test was based on the book we were reading, "Thank You For Arguing". There were only 15 questions. The test was multiple choice. I missed a few questions, but my grade was an 80. Next time i will read more carefully, and try to work faster. 

Today in class we talked about u npopular opinions. This time we wrote down two. We then have selected only one of our two to present. We wrote our opinion on the board and discussed as a class. Beginning with those that agreed to the presenters point, then with those that disagreed. My two unpopular opinions were that high school isn't that difficult, and that online shopping is better than in person shopping.  There weren't many controversial topics today. 

 

 Today in c lass we  went over another prompt. We compared nationality to individuality. We also picked our position on the matter. We decided if we felt they were similar or not. We also decided which one  we viewed to be more important. I picked individuality as more important. I also decided that nationality and individuality were somewhat connected. I don't believe that they work hand in hand but they are alike. 

 Today in class, we were reading  the same book that we've had since last week. "Thank You for Arguing". We read chapter five by ourselves. After reading the chapter we  summarized it, listed five main points of it, and told how we could use it in real life. After this we were given an example from the AP exam. We annotated the prompt and picked our positions. 

 Today in class we learned something new. We learned about inductive and deductive reasoning. Deductive reasoning is drawing a conclusion that is certain. Inductive reasoning is drawing a conclusion that is uncertain. We did a helpful work sheet with 20 questions to help us understand how the reasonings differ and how they’re used. Today class was pretty fun. 

 Today in class we learned something new. We learned about logical fallacies. The main on we reviewed was hasty generalizations. This is making an assumption on a whole group that isn’t necessarily true. They remind me of stereotypes. My favorite part was the examples we made as a class. Todays class was fun. 

Today in class we did the same thing as yesterday. Today we focused on the part where you control the tense. B lame is the past. V alues is the present. C hoice is the future.

 Today in class we took a new approach on arguments. We did this using a book. I forgot the tittle. I like this book because it gives the information in an unconventional way. The book shows you how to get your way in may scenarios. Todays class was good. 

 Today I wasn’t in class. This is because I was moving. See you tomorrow. 

 Today in class we had a class debate on the remaining students topics. I like this assignment because its interactive and we all get a chance to speak. Although sometimes things can get heated and hectic. Its a fun way that keeps student up the whole class period. 

 Today we presented our debates. My debate was on whether  torture was ever necessary. I said that it would only be ethical if hundred to thousands people were in danger. My partner Kb said that its ethical for revenge. I disagreed with her. WE also debated as a class about the other students topics. 

 Today in class we reviewed our Rhetorical Analysis After reviewing my score and essay, there are 5 things I need to do to improve my score. 1st I need to plan faster. Next I need to articulate my thoughts faster.  Then, I need to write faster. I also need to analyze the rhetoric used. Lastly, I need to complete the entire essay. After reviewing your score and essay, what are 5 things you need to do to improve your score,

 Today in class I made up the Fences test I missed last week. The order of the questions kept throwing me off. That mostly my fault for being overly cautious. I hope i did the short answer questions correctly because I felt I could've wrote more. 

 Today in class we read a short story called " The Yellow Wallpaper". The story was based upon a mother dealing with postpartum depression. In the story the mother was essentially going insane. it gives a new look into depression at least for me. I usually see depression portrayed as someone bed ridden, quite, and stinky. This short story goes into the thoughts of someone dealing with depression.
